Davey

Davey Johnston
Guitar & Vocals

Davey is a guitar player to watch. He’s been playing guitar in rock & roll, punk rock, blues, and country bands since the mid 1990’s, and has played on a continuously growing pile of his own records from bands like The Fuzz Kings, Wildwood, The Fat Dave Crime Wave, and others – as well as hundreds of stages since he first picked up a telecaster. He’s learned more than a few tricks along the way and has become a highly sought-after contributor to many independent albums.

Outside the realm of rock & roll records, he’s also a vintage car enthusiast whose been working on his 1962 Ford Fairlane 500 in his spare time. He’s also a straight-edge, vegan, amateur triathlete and fitness junkie, spending hours on running and biking trails – but the event he’s always training for is the next high-energy Confusionaires show or studio session. His other roles in the band including organizing some of the band’s shows & promotion, copywriting, song-writing, making setlists, and all making sure the details are taken care of. Some of that writing has forayed its way into a blog called ‘The Conscious Pilgrim.’

Many of his songs come to him on the trail, and thus tend to visit themes of meditation, struggle, life, purpose, meaning, and personal reflection. To Davey’s mind, songs about girls & cars & booze are all fine and good, and he’s written more than a few – but he likes to dig deeper these days… there ain’t nothin’ wrong with girls & cars… Jayson & Adam will have to help you out with your booze, though.
